12-year-old defender Rio Ferdinand will have spent at "Manchester United" club. The veteran officially announced that he is leaving the "Red Devils" team.

The 35-year-old footballer was plagued by injuries in the recently ended season and could not play in the starting lineup.

R. Ferdinand is the most expensive British footballer. He cost almost 30 million pounds to the "Man Utd" team in 2002.

"Over the last few months, I have thought a lot about my future. I have decided that after 12 great years, in my opinion, with the best team in the world, I have to move on and seek new challenges," said R. Ferdinand.

The defender has worn the shirts of "West Ham," "Bournemouth," and "Leeds United" during his career apart from "Man Utd."

In 12 years in Manchester, the Englishman won as many as 15 trophies and appeared on the field a total of 455 times. It remains unclear where the experienced R. Ferdinand's career will go next."
