23rd round: "Bayern" pulls away from "Hamburger" © EuroFootball.com

A

nd the Bundesliga football championship continues and approaches the finish line, while the "Bayern" club successfully marches towards another champions title, winning another victory in this round and slightly increasing the gap from "Hamburger".

The Bavarian club crushed the "Eintracht" club 5-2 at home and extended their winning streak at their home "Allianz" arena - this season "Bayern" has gained all possible points at home. Although the hosts scored the first goal in the 21st minute, the visitors from Frankfurt did not give up and soon managed to equalize. However, just twenty seconds later, the Munich team surged ahead again, and this quick response probably finally broke the visitors - during the remaining time of the match, "Eintracht" conceded three more goals, delighting the 70 thousand "Bayern" fans gathered in the stadium.

Very different were the fans' moods in Hamburg, at the "AOL" arena - the home team "Hamburger" lost 0-2 to the visitors from Stuttgart and greatly complicated their chances of fighting for the league champions title. Not only that, the port city's footballers also lost their second position in the league standings, conceding it to the "Werder" team.

Lately showing good performance, the "Werder" club in the middle of the week defeated the "Juventus" team and this Saturday won the match in the national championship, defeating the "Gladbach" team 2-0 at home. Recently returned from injury, "Werder" forward M. Klose wasted no time and in the 16th minute already put the hosts ahead - after J. Micaudo's "cross", M. Klose headed the ball into the "Gladbach" goal and scored the 17th goal in the Bundesliga this season. Just ten minutes later, another productive forward I. Klasničius doubled the hosts' lead and contributed to the club's fifteenth victory this season. This win allowed them to further close the gap with the leading "Bayern" players - the Bremen team is still nine points ahead of the leaders.

Continuing to win and rapidly climbing up from the bottom of the league standings are the "Kaiserslautern" football players. This time "Kaiserslautern" defeated "Mainz" 2-0 away and won their third consecutive victory, as the club was led to victory again by B. Sanogo, who scored both goals in three minutes of the match. The fantastic form of the forward was on display as he sent the ball into the opponents' goal six times in the last four matches. The victory allowed "Kaiserslautern" to rise to the fourteenth place, guaranteeing their survival in the top league.

Still looking hopeless are the "Koln" footballers - on Saturday, they lost 0-3 at home to the visitors from Leverkusen. For most of the match, "Koln" managed to keep the score level, but at the end of the match, they collapsed and conceded three goals in sixteen minutes, suffering their fourteenth defeat this season. If "Koln" does not start collecting points in the remaining eleven matches, they will undoubtedly have to leave the Bundesliga.
