On Friday, three matches of the 23rd round of the "A League" were played - "Sūduva" crushed the championship underdog "Nevėžis", "Kaunas" defeated "Žalgiris" in a tough match, and "Vilnius" managed to secure a point away.
Kėdainiai's "Nevėžio" footballers suffered a crushing defeat at home, losing 1-6 to Marijampolė's "Sūduva" team. Tomas Radzinevičius scored four goals for the winners, rising to third place in the list of top scorers.
The "Vilnius" club in Šilutė managed to snatch a draw against the locals "Šilutė" right at the end of the match. In the 87th minute, Vilnius team's Cameroonian legionnaire Pierre Oliver Bakalag scored.
Another Vilnius team - "Žalgiris" - lost at home to defending country champions FBK "Kaunas", with only legionnaires standing out in their ranks. Even though after 51 minutes the result was 0-3 following the goals of Arkadijus Klimekas and Edin Pehličiaus, Žalgiris found the strength to score two goals, but it wasn't enough to secure a draw.
There will be another three matches of the 23rd round of the "A League" on Saturday. Vilnius' "Vėtra" will host "Šiauliai" at home. The match starts at 18:00.
