n Sunday, the remaining eight matches of the 33rd round of the Italian championship took place. Juventus secured a draw at home against Fiorentina, while Milan, Lazio, and Roma emerged victorious. Additionally, it was revealed that Treviso will no longer compete in the league next year.

At Juventus' home, they played a 1-1 draw with Fiorentina. The guests' forward, Luca Toni, scored his 27th goal of the season in these matches, becoming Fiorentina's all-time leading scorer in a single season.

In the 17th minute, Juventus defender Jonathan Zebina fouled Luca Toni in the penalty area, leading to a penalty kick, but Fiorentina's Luis Jimenez had his shot saved by Milan's goalkeeper, Christian Abbiati. Fiorentina took the lead in the 47th minute after another mistake by Zebina. This time, the Frenchman left Luca Toni unmarked, who only had to beat Christian Abbiati. Nevertheless, Juventus managed to salvage a draw - Turin club captain Alessandro Del Piero equalized after a great pass from Patrick Vieira.

Almost without hope of catching Turin in the fight for the title, Milan defeated Chievo Verona 4-1 at home, even though the visitors scored first.

Sergio Pellissier beat Milan's goalkeeper in the 13th minute to put his team ahead, but the hosts managed to equalize after 15 minutes when Alessandro Nesta scored after a pass from Kaka. Kaka began a show in the 62nd minute - the Brazilian scored three goals, burying the visitors from Verona and securing a two-point lead for his club over Inter in the upcoming round's city derby.

Roma's Lazio also achieved a hard-fought victory, defeating Siena 3-2 away. The capital team squandered a two-goal lead but managed to bounce back, with a goal from Ousmane Dabo and fantastic play from 42-year-old goalkeeper Marco Ballotta allowing Lazio to secure three points and overtake Chievo in the race for a UEFA Cup spot.

AS Roma also celebrated a victory - a 3-1 win at home against Lecce. The hosts scored two goals thanks to the Brazilian Amantino Mancini, while Lecce missed the chance to soften the scoreline in the 39th minute when Alex Pinardi failed to convert a penalty kick.

Empoli continued their good form, defeating Sampdoria 2-1 at home. Two goals from Antonio Busce secured the victory for the hosts.

Parma also extended their successful streak, crushing Reggina 4-0 at home. Led by Mario Berettos, Parma's players left no hope for their opponents, who played with ten men from the 63rd minute.

Meanwhile, Treviso suffered a 3-1 defeat away to Messina. This defeat means that they will no longer compete in the top Italian league next year since they have no theoretical chance of climbing out of the relegation zone.
