Returning to his first career club, Argentine Carlos Tevez will long remember the welcome from the fans.
40,000 "Boca Juniors" supporters gathered at the stadium chanting the striker's name and holding up posters specially created for him.
Argentina's football legend Diego Maradona was also present, along with his colleagues, raising a huge banner saying "Carlitos, thank you for coming back".
The 31-year-old Argentine had played for his hometown team at the beginning of his career, when he triumphed in the "Copa Sudamericana," "Libertadores," and "Intercontinental Cup" tournaments between 2001 and 2004.
Later, Tevez moved to "Corinthians," and in 2006-2007 he began his career in Europe, arriving at London's "West Ham United" with Javier Mascherano.
Spending a long period in the English capital, he defended the colors of both Manchester clubs (2007-2013), and in the 2011-2012 season he got into a conflict with "Man City" coach Roberto Mancini when he refused to warm up during a match against Munich's "Bayern".
Finally, Tevez moved to Turin's "Juventus" and experienced a true renaissance.
During his career in Europe, the Argentine won three "Premier" League titles, FA Cups, League Cups, the Champions League, two "Scudetto" titles, and the Italian Cup tournament.
