50-year-old football player R. Ferreira disqualified: I hoped for a year or two

On Saturday, footballer Ricardo Ferreira received a very harsh verdict. He was disqualified for 50 years after throwing the ball at the referee's head and pouring water over him.

BBC reports that the defender of the club "Futebol Clube" based in Switzerland has already missed 45 matches due to attacks on opponents, and this time received a very strict punishment.

The 28-year-old footballer, upon learning that he would have to miss 50 years of football, was disappointed: "I expected a year or two, but 50? Football is my life."

The lawyer of the fourth-ranked league in terms of capabilities, Robert Breiter, was strict: "We do not need such players."

The incident occurred when during a match against the "SC Worb" team, R.Ferreira remained seated on the bench and after the match threw a ball at the referee's face and poured water over him.

The footballer will be able to play again on June 5, 2064, when he will be 78 years old.
