Over the weekend, seven out of eight matches of the 9th round of the Russian "Premier" League took place, after which the leader of the championship became the defending champions of the title, Moscow's "CSKA" club, which took advantage of "Rubin's" failure against "Zenit" and after a victory against "Moskva" once again pushed forward.

The match in Tomsk took place with a huge advantage for the hosts. This fact was soon confirmed by the result. At first, in the 36th minute, A. Diomkin scored a goal, and right after the break, D. Kiselyov doubled "Tom's" lead. The visitors managed to soften the result with just one goal, scored by A. Tikhonovets. "Tom" won by a score of 2-1, thus tying with Kazan's "Rubin" for second place.

In Yaroslavl, "Shinnik" suffered another defeat, unable to resist the visitors from Nalchik. The only goal of the match was scored by the Nalchik "Spartak" defender V. Lanko, who rushed to the ball rebounded by the hosts' goalkeeper after a penalty. The score of 0-1 celebrated the victory of Nalchik "Spartak".

In the last match on Saturday, the home victory was achieved by Perm's "Amkar", who won by a minimum score of 1-0 against Rostov's "Rostov" team. In the 39th minute of the match, "Amkar" could have taken the lead, but A. Sarkisian missed a penalty, while in the 79th minute, the penalty was converted by the Moroccan legionnaire N. Ziyati, who defeated his compatriot, the "Rostov" goalkeeper A. Bagi. However, two minutes later, "Rostov" equalized the score, but the referee flagged for an offside.

In Sunday's match, the Moscow clubs "Moskva" and "CSKA" first met. "CSKA" players dominated the match, while "Moskva" relied on counter-attacks. However, the only goal was scored into the "Moskva" goal by Joao, marking his 11th goal of the championship. "CSKA" celebrated a 1-0 victory with a minimal score.

Also in Moscow, the meeting between "Torpedo" and "Lokomotiv" took place. The "Torpedo" players unexpectedly scored first, but the goal was a signal for the "Lokomotiv" players to take action. And soon after, the "Lokomotiv" Scottish legionnaire Gary O'Connor equalized the score.

The second half turned into a nightmare for the "Torpedo" players. In the 57th minute, "Lokomotiv" took the lead through D. Bilyaletdinov. After seven minutes, the referee did not award a penalty to "Lokomotiv" for a handball, and this moment probably broke the "Torpedo" players. They missed two more goals and at the end of the match, one of their players was sent off. "Lokomotiv" players celebrated a 4-1 victory.

In Ramenskoye, "Saturn" let the victory slip through their hands in the last minutes against Samara's "Krylya Sovetov". The first half and the majority of the second half passed rather boringly, and only in the last ten minutes did the teams take action. In the 82nd minute, "Saturn" scored a goal, and it seemed that they would finally be able to score a home victory. However, the visitors had a different opinion, and they skillfully converted a penalty in extra time.

The Sunday program ended in St. Petersburg. The local "Zenit" and Kazan's "Rubin" met. In the 42nd minute, "Zenit" defender I. Denisov scored a goal, sealing Zenit's victory with a 1-0 result.
