"Valencia" confirmed that the team's defender Aymen Abdennour suffered an Achilles tendon injury in yesterday's UEFA Champions League match against "Lyon".
The Tunisian national team member was substituted after playing almost an hour.
The player's rehabilitation period is not disclosed in the statement released by the Spanish club.
Having secured their first victory yesterday in the strongest European tournament, "Valencia" signed 26-year-old Abdennour from "Monaco" last month. He started in the last five out of six matches and replaced Nicolas Otamendi, who moved to "Manchester City".
