A. Agnelli on Super League: "Most clubs want that"

"Turino "Juventus" team and European Clubs Association (ECA) president Andrea Agnelli says that most of the continent's giants, including "Bayern," Madrid "Real" and "Juventus," want a new UEFA Champions League.

For some time now, there has been public discussion about the desire of European football giants to create a Super League that would replace the current Champions League. In this tournament, almost all of Europe's most prestigious clubs would participate, competing against each other. Essentially, this would resemble the format of the EuroLeague.

According to A. Agnelli, negotiations for the creation of a new tournament could start in the near future.

"We are at the beginning of the process. We need time to properly analyze all proposals. It doesn't depend on someone's answer of "yes" or "no," the ECA president said.

"The new Champions League is now just a big speculation. "Real," "Bayern," and "Juventus" are in favor of the new tournament, as are many other teams.

Discussions are now taking place, so in a few months we will find out if the new tournament will be accessible to all. The negotiations will be open and transparent, as was the previous meeting with UEFA.

We want such negotiations to continue in football. They can last from two to 20 months. Clubs will have the opportunity to participate in the conversation, as we are trying to find a fair system that would be suitable for both European clubs and football as a whole. Other clubs will not be forgotten," added A. Agnelli.

Recently, there have been rumors in Spain that the Super League is planned to be launched from 2024 onwards.
