A Colombian demands one billion euros from FIFA for the stress caused during the World Cup

The passions of the World Cup have already calmed down, and Colombian Aurelio Jimenez has decided that it is time to sue FIFA for poor refereeing during the tournament, as BBC reports.

Colombian lawyer Aurelio Jimenez is seeking to recover one billion euros from FIFA for the moral damage suffered due to poor refereeing at the World Cup in Brazil.

The 74-year-old lawyer claims that during the quarterfinal between Brazil and Colombia, he experienced a lot of stress and had to be taken to the hospital.

The Colombian blames referee Carlos Velasco Carballo for everything, accusing him of making too many mistakes while officiating the match. Immediately after the match, the Spanish referee received numerous complaints for not calling fouls by the Brazilians, who committed fouls against Colombian leader James Rodriguez.

Former referees also criticized the arbitrator. One of them, Graham Poll, said that the Spaniard failed to control the match.

In this match, Colombian Juan Zuniga injured Brazilian star Neymar, who had to withdraw from the championship due to the injury. However, the Colombian did not receive a punishment from the referee, and later FIFA, reviewing the episode, decided that the referee acted correctly.

A.Jimenez, demanding one billion euros, told BBC that he has evidence that the referees did a poor job. Among them are comments from football stars such as Pele, Diego Maradona, David Ospina, and James Rodriguez about these matches.

The Colombian claimed that this match simply crushed him: "I felt very bad. My heart was pounding, and my heart rate increased, so I had to be taken to the hospital. I was surrounded by grandchildren who were crying."

According to the lawyer, the match between Colombia and Brazil was just one example of terrible refereeing at the World Cup.

The Colombian claimed that if he won the case, all the money would go to underprivileged Colombian children.
