A. Conte: "Everything was supposed to end differently"

Milan's "Inter" lost a crucial UEFA Champions League group stage match to "Barcelona" on Tuesday and ended their campaign in the prestigious European tournament.

After the first half, the score was level at 1-1, but in the second half, "Inter" failed to capitalize on several excellent opportunities, and at the end of the match, young "Barcelona" talent Ansu Fati dashed Italy's club's hopes of progressing further.

After the match, "Inter" coach had few complaints about his players and stated that his team had a chance to defeat "Barcelona."

"We could have won the match. We created enough dangerous episodes, but lacked a better finish. I have no complaints because my players gave everything. We just missed one more goal, but we conceded and the match was over.

It was hard for me to watch Fati's goal, as he finished us off. We pressed our opponents and created chances. It's unfortunate for the fans who supported us from the beginning to the end of the match. The atmosphere in the stadium was amazing. Everything should have ended differently.

I think we deserved more in this group. Still, it will be a great experience for us. We wanted to progress to the next stage, so we are all disappointed, but I told my players that we need to lift our heads up again," A. Conte said after the match.

"Inter" will continue their season in the UEFA Europa League after the New Year.
