Despite not scoring many goals recently, London's "Chelsea" sniper Diego Costa impressed Antonio Conte with his work ethic.
The Spanish national team member stood out after a seven-game drought, and by scoring a brace, he surpassed the 50-goal mark in the Premier League.
The capital's footballers defeated "Southampton" with a 4-2 result yesterday, increasing their lead over "Tottenham" in the second place of the English championship to seven points.
"It's normal for attackers to make an impact. Goals are their life," Conte said after the match.
"Nevertheless, in my eyes, I've always said that I am impressed by his dedication, his work for the team. He always worked for the team."
"Sometimes things didn't go well for him in certain circumstances, but I was always sure about him."
"After the match against 'Tottenham,' I said that I am convinced he saves his goals for the last weeks of the season."
"Now he has to continue that. He is very important to us. His confidence is very important to us."
"He scored two very beautiful goals, it's a good combination and technique between him and his teammates."
Costa has scored a total of 17 goals and provided six assists in the Premier League this season, playing 30 matches.
