Milan's "Inter" started their Italy Cup semi-final battle unsuccessfully on Wednesday, losing 0:1 in the first home game to "Napoli" team.
After the defeat, Milan's coach Antonio Conte talked about the players' fatigue after the intense derby on Sunday and admitted that "Inter" still has a long way to go to become an elite team.
"The derby on Sunday demanded a lot of energy from us, especially psychologically. I made five changes in the lineup, but it must be understood that "Napoli" is a very good team, which this season has defeated teams like "Juventus," "Lazio," or "Liverpool."
I would dare to say that the composition of "Napoli" is the second best in the whole "Serie A," second only to "Juventus."
Gennaro Gattuso chose a smart tactic, with the opponents spending more time defending and looking for opportunities on counterattacks. We had our chances, and I believe we deserved at least a draw.
Our journey is just beginning, and we certainly are not as strong as teams that have been at the top level for years. We must use these losses to improve," - A. Conte spoke to "Rai Sport."
