Having had one training session with Milan's "Inter" team, Christian Eriksen has already made his mark on Italian football.
Officially joining the "Inter" club on Tuesday, the 27-year-old Dane made his debut on Wednesday evening as "Inter" fought for a place in the semi-finals of the Italian Cup.
C. Eriksen appeared in the 66th minute after the substitution. Immediately upon stepping onto the field, a winning goal was scored, with Nicolo Barella as the author.
Antonio Conte revealed after the match that C. Eriksen logically should not have entered the field, but the current situation left no other option.
"We didn't think we would need Eriksen's services so soon - yesterday he only had one training session with us. However, we only have two healthy midfielders in the middle of the field - Vecino and Barella," said the Italian.
"Eriksen has everything to improve the level of our team. I hope we will soon have more returning players, as we are currently limited in the midfield.
Today, we tried a slightly different system to compensate for the absences of Sensi and Brozovic. Eriksen can also play in different roles. We will see where he would be most suitable to play. We will only be able to do that after some time," added A. Conte.
