A. Conte: we haven't proven anything yet

The head coach of the Italian national team, Antonio Conte, after the victorious start of the 2016 European Championship, stated that the victory against Belgium does not mean anything yet.

Yesterday, two favorites - the Italian and Belgian national teams - clashed in Group E. Before the start of the championship, experts claimed that the composition of the Italians is one of the weakest in history, but A. Conte's players silenced the critics in the first match, defeating the Belgians, considered one of the favorites to win EURO 2016, with a score of 2-0.

"I don't think that one match can change people's perceptions," - responded A. Conte to the critics. - "But people who currently think that we are capable of winning this tournament don't know anything about football."

"We are still not over the wounds of the unsuccessful 2014 World Cup. The memories are very fresh. Two years ago, we started the World Cup with a victory against the English, but still couldn't advance from the group stage.

"Now we want to advance from this group and then we will see our worth," - added A. Conte, who will take over the reins of London's "Chelsea" club starting from next season.

Italy will play their next group stage match on June 17. The European vice-champions will face the Swedish national team led by Zlatan Ibrahimović.
