A. Del Piero urges compatriots to play bravely, but also predicts a possible successor to G. Ventura

Whole Italy holding its breath awaits today's World Cup qualifying match at the "San Siro" stadium.

Four-time world champion could miss the first championships since 1958 if they fail to overturn a 0-1 deficit in the return leg.

Legendary Turin "Juventus" footballer Alessandro Del Piero urged his compatriots to play resolutely and assured that national team coach Giampiero Ventura should not complain about the lack of capable players.

"Ciro Immobile scores goals every week. He is simply incredible. Ventura can also rely on Insigne and Candreva's creativity in the wings, so I don't think we will have any problems attacking the opponent's goal," said Del Piero.

He also spoke about the possible successor to Ventura if the latter fails to get out of a difficult situation.

"We would like Antonio Conte to come back, as he is a great coach and led the team successfully in the past, just as he is doing at Chelsea now. There were some problems in the Juventus team, but Antonio solved them and then won the Scudetto. Let's hope he will return one day."
