A. Di Maria: I wanted to stay in the "Real" club

Angel Di Maria admitted that he never wanted to leave Real Madrid team and move to Manchester United, out of admiration and respect for his former club.

The Argentine, who now plays for Paris Saint-Germain, joined United in the summer of 2014 for a fee of 75 million pounds. However, he failed to adapt as an English player and moved to the French capital after just one season in the Premier League.

Di Maria returned to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium as a PSG player during the Champions League group stage matches on November 3. Approaching this match, the footballer admitted that he was forced to leave the Real team.

"I always wanted to stay at Real Madrid. But I never had a good relationship with Florentino Perez," the player told Marca.

The 27-year-old midfielder is positive when speaking about PSG's chances in Europe this year, but also emphasized that Real Madrid will always remain an important club for him.

"PSG can win the Champions League. Both the players and the club want this trophy. You will see a bold Parisian team in Madrid.

"I never forget the Real fans. The ovation I received in my last matches was something special and I will never forget it. If I scored a goal at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium, I wouldn't celebrate. I just have too much respect for this team and its fans," Di Maria spoke about the upcoming matches.
