Mohamed Salah's teammate in the Egyptian national team, Ahmed Elmohamady, does not believe that comparisons between the Liverpool forward and Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are justified.
The 25-year-old footballer is often compared to the world's best players as he continues to impress each season since debuting in England, breaking one record after another.
With Liverpool's success in the UEFA Champions League, there have been talks recently that Salah could even break the dominance of Barcelona and Real Madrid leaders in the "Ballon d'Or" awards.
"This is just one season," said Elmohamady, not surprised by his compatriot's performances.
"He played well in Rome. However, to be on the same level as Ronaldo and Messi, he has to do it for seven or eight years."
However, the Aston Villa defender from Birmingham agrees that Salah is one of the best at the moment.
"(Facing him in training is easy, but during matches, he becomes a different player," added Elmohamady.
"He is one of the best footballers in the world. I am happy for him. We all are very happy for him."
"Mo-Mo is a great guy. He has been great all season. He is doing really well in Liverpool's team."
"Let's hope he can maintain this form and help us in the World Cup. We need him. He will play a big role in the team."
"He took the opportunity to leave Chelsea and the Premier League to prove everyone wrong. He did it at Fiorentina and Roma, then came back to the Premier League and now you see what he can do."
This season, Salah scored a total of 43 goals and provided 15 assists.
