"Kauno Žalgiris" football team became a stepping stone to a higher level for another player. The club reached an agreement with Lodz LKS club regarding the transfer of Anton Fase.
The contract of the football player holding Dutch and Surinamese citizenship with the Kaunas team was valid until the end of the 2023 season. At that time, the player would have left the club as a free agent.
The 23-year-old attacking player joined "Kauno Žalgiris" in the summer of 2022 and significantly contributed to the team winning silver medals in the A League for the first time.
In his debut season with green and white stripes, A. Fase scored 10 goals and made 3 assists in 19 matches.
However, the second season in Lithuania did not go as well for the foreign player - he scored 2 goals in 15 matches in the country's top league.
A. Fase made a crucial appearance in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers against Poznan's "Lech" club - in the first leg in Poznan, he scored a spectacular long-range shot and scored one of the team's two goals in that series.
Having missed several of the team's recent matches, A. Fase will also play against a Lithuanian in the Polish top league this year in the returning Lodz LKS club.
