General Manager of "Milan" club Adriano Galliani is delighted that they managed to grow a goalkeeper like Gianluigi Donnarumma in the academy.
The 17-year-old "Milan" goalkeeper has been a fixture in the starting lineup since last season. G. Donnarumma has also made it into the Italian national team, although there he has a very strong competitor - the legendary Gianluigi Buffon.
There have been discussions in the media for some time now that G. Donnarumma could succeed G. Buffon not only in the Italian national team but also at Turin's "Juventus" club. It is believed that Buffon will end his professional career after the 2018 World Cup.
When asked if G. Donnarumma will succeed G. Buffon at "Juventus," A. Galliani responded: "You must be joking. Donnarumma is a "Milan" player."
"I hope, and I am convinced, that he will play for "Milan" for many more years. I believe that Donnarumma will succeed Buffon in the Italian national team. He still has a contract with "Juventus" for two more years and so far, he is doing his job excellently," - concluded one of the "Milan" officials.
