„Milan“ general director Adriano Galliani shared his idea that his team could combine forces with the city's "Inter" football players and play friendly matches against European teams formed on the same principle.
Looking forward to Sunday's derby, the "rossoneri" leader sees no obstacles in bringing together eternal rivals.
"Imagine the team "rossonerazzura" joining forces against cities where derbies are also taking place," Galliani said to Gazzetta dello Sport.
"We could say Milan against Madrid. However, maybe the "Real"- "Atletico" union should be avoided, as both teams are very strong."
"Still, if we want to create a show... maybe Barcelona? But even in this case, "Espanyol" falls too far behind "Barca."
"However, in England, I think about "United" and "City" forming a joint Manchester team."
Galliani's idea is not new, as both Milan clubs have formed a joint team before. This started back in 1926.
However, fans have not seen the union since the 1980s when the Milan charity match, aimed at raising money for earthquake victims, defeated Munich's "Bayern."
