The Ukrainian national team will have to rely on attacking midfielder Oleksandr Gladkiy in the crucial showdown for a place in the 2016 European Championship. The Shakhtar Donetsk member will not be able to play in both matches.
The country's football federation confirmed today that Gladkiy did not travel with the national team to Lviv, where the first match will be played tomorrow, and will also not travel to Slovenia.
The striker suffered a calf injury in the UEFA Champions League match, in which "Shakhtar" defeated "Malmo" 4-0.
Ukraine will seek to qualify for the continental tournament for only the second time. Previously, the country appeared in "Euro 2012", where it participated as co-hosts along with Poland.
