Last Sunday, Liverpool's Everton midfielder Andre Gomes, who suffered an open ankle fracture in a match against Tottenham, was already released from the hospital.
The 26-year-old Portuguese successfully underwent surgery on Monday, and it was almost certain that this season is already over for the footballer.
However, Everton's coach Marco Silva mentioned during a press conference on Thursday that A. Gomes could return to the lineup before the end of this season.
"At the moment, it's hard for us to say when he can return to the field. We had a conversation with the medical staff, who suggest that A. Gomes could return to the lineup before the end of this season," M. Silva said.
This season, A. Gomes managed to play 9 matches for Everton, but did not score any goals.
