Madrid's "Atletico" achieved a very important victory in the Spanish league yesterday, but Antoine Griezmann did not bring much joy to it.
Diego Simeone's "Atletico" club won against "Valencia" with a score of 1-0 at the "Wanda Metropolitano" stadium. A. Griezmann did not contribute to the goal, but he spent the entire 90 minutes on the field and got into a conflict with his own fans at the end.
In the 90th minute, "Valencia" lost the ball in the opponent's half, and A. Griezmann, who was in the middle of the field, received it. One of the team's friends joined the attack on the flank, but the Frenchman decided not to rush, saving the ball to give it back to another team mate, which did not please the "Atletico" fans.
They started loudly expressing their displeasure towards the player, and he, not willing to tolerate it, showed a gesture to silence, which infuriated the "Atletico" fans even more. Nevertheless, they managed to avoid bigger problems and A. Griezmann successfully finished the game.
Griezmann's future within "Atletico" remains unclear - the attacker, who showed uncertainty in the summer, is most likely to leave "Rojiblancos" after this season. According to the Spanish press, "Barcelona" has already reached a verbal agreement with the player.
