Just in his third season with Madrid's Atletico, Antoine Griezmann has already become the club's record holder. The Frenchman is now the all-time leading scorer for "Los Colchoneros" in the UEFA Champions League.
The forward scored against Bayer Leverkusen yesterday, doubling his team's lead to 2-0. The match ultimately ended in a 4-2 victory for the Spaniards.
This was Griezmann's 13th goal representing Atletico - previously, the record belonged to the legend Luis Aragones, who scored 12 times.
"I am proud to be part of Atletico's history with my goal and I hope I can continue to make history here," Griezmann said after the match.
At 25 years old, the young footballer may make his record unreachable for future "Colchoneros" strikers. However, there have been rumors recently that Manchester United is interested in him.
