Antoine Griezmann continues to campaign for his "Ballon d'Or" selection. The Frenchman, speaking to the Spanish media, stated that he is currently on par with Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
This year's winner of the Europa League and world champion, A. Griezmann, has repeatedly mentioned that he feels he has done everything this year to compete for the best player of the year award.
In an interview with the newspaper "AS," Griezmann was asked if he still believes he is "on the same level as L. Messi and C. Ronaldo."
"I think so, really. I know that new stars are emerging gradually, so I constantly strive to improve my game. It motivates me to get better, win more, and continue this successful journey we are on now," said the Frenchman.
"Not everyone sees football the same way. I am a different player compared to Cristiano, Messi, Neymar, or Mbappe. I am playing well at the moment, but that doesn't mean it will stop me from further improvement.
I probably will never score 50 goals in a season, but I want to be a different type of forward and contribute more to my team," added Griezmann.
Griezmann also didn't hold back on expressing his opinion on FIFA awards and his chances in the "Ballon d'Or" selection.
"It's somewhat shameful that there are no World Cup winners in the FIFA top three. Mbappe, Varane, Kante, or I should have been there.
However, I believe that the 'Ballon d'Or' award is more significant than this trophy. I understand that I still have three months. We have to wait and see what happens in these selections," concluded the forward.
