Arriving in "Barcelona" this summer, Antoine Griezmann does not expect to receive love from "Atletico" fans from Madrid when he returns to the "Wanda Metropolitano" stadium next season.
Griezmann parted ways with "Atletico" after "Barcelona" paid 120 million euros to buy out his contract. The farewell was not the prettiest - "Atletico" accused the player and the Catalan club of reaching an agreement during the season when the Madrid team was still competing for titles.
Speaking to "Marca," Griezmann stated that he understands he will be booed, but he also added that he will always have warm feelings for the "Atletico" club.
"I'm not worried about returning to 'Wanda,'" immediately said Griezmann. "I know I will be booed, that's part of football. They really loved me, but when someone leaves you, it can hurt you."
"The same thing happened with 'Real Sociedad' - my first return was definitely not easy. Nevertheless, 'La Real' and 'Atleti' will always be in my heart. These clubs have given me a lot," added Griezmann.
