In September, fans of the French national team received some unpleasant news – forward Antoine Griezmann announced his departure from the national team.
However, the 33-year-old veteran may still return to the team.
According to journalist Romain Molina, A. Griezmann will try to replicate the "trick" of French legend Zinedine Zidane.
The latter had stepped away from the national team after the 2004 European Championship but returned a year later and brought glory back to the team at the 2006 World Cup.
Now, A. Griezmann, according to R. Molina, will wait for the French team to start losing matches before announcing his return.
The player may also be waiting for the departure of the team's head coach Didier Deschamps – the strategist angered the forward when he passed the national team captain's armband from Hugo Lloris to the significantly younger Kylian Mbappe.
