France national team leader Antoine Griezmann is already thinking about the quarterfinal clash with Uruguay, from which he expects a similar style of play as from his own represented Madrid "Atletico.
"Les Bleus" defeated Argentina's footballers 4-3 in the first round of the World Cup quarterfinals, while their future opponents beat Portugal 2-1 from South America.
On the other side of the barricade, two sniper team friends will also play. This is the pair of central defenders Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez.
"Uruguay will be like "Atletico". They won't rush anywhere, they'll fall on the ground, they'll approach the referee," said Griezmann.
"We'll have to get used to it, because the match will be boring and they will try to lead us to it."
In the opponents' ranks, Griezmann is particularly impressed by Edinson Cavani, who scored a double yesterday.
"I think he is the best striker," added the 27-year-old footballer.
"He scores 10 thousand goals, works for the team, and if he is injured, they will have to change a lot, because he scored both goals."
True, the French also have a good option in the attack. Their teammate, Kylian Mbappe, shone twice in front of Argentina.
"Our task is to create the right conditions for him and do everything to make him feel good on the field. They will probably defend against him differently," Griezmann spoke about the rising star.
"This is the quarterfinals, and he is only 19 years old. In the dressing room and in the tunnel, he was quiet. His maturity surprises me. He always listens - that's good for us."
"When he wants to score more and hurt teams, he will be a top-level player. He will rise to the top. We need to give him the right balls."
The clash between France and Uruguay will take place on Friday.
