A. Herrera denies allegations of match-fixing

„Manchester United“ defender Ander Herrera claimed innocence when he, along with 40 other people, was questioned about match-fixing in Spain.

The accusations were made against the Spaniard, nine of his teammates at "Real Zaragoza," and the former coach of the team Javier Aguirre for allegedly paying €965,000 to Valencia's "Levante" players before the last match of the 2010-11 season in "La Liga."

Herrera, who represented Zaragoza from the age of 12, categorically denied this information on his Facebook account and promised to assist in the investigation in every possible way.

"There are 41 people mentioned, among them - my name. I have never had nor will have anything to do with manipulating match results," wrote the "Man United" newcomer.

"If I am ever invited to testify in court, I will gladly participate, because my conscience is clear. I love football and believe in fair play both on and off the pitch."

"Real Zaragoza" then defeated "Levante" 2-1, with the current captain of Madrid's "Atletico," Gabi, scoring a brace.
