Having spent five years with "Manchester United," Ander Herrera became a free agent this summer and last week signed a contract with Paris Saint-Germain until 2024.
The 29-year-old Spaniard, speaking to "Marca," explained the reasons for this decision and revealed that "Red Devils" coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer tried to keep him in Manchester.
"I don't like to dwell too much on the past, but I wasn't a significant figure in the club's vision. I was very happy in Manchester. I want to thank the club, the fans, and Solskjaer, who tried to keep me in the team, but everything turned out differently.
"United" made an offer very late, and by then I had already decided to move to Paris. I am very happy and enjoying this city, the stadium, and the great club," A. Herrera said.
The midfielder played 28 matches and scored 3 goals last season with "Man Utd."
