Experiencing another difficult season, the "Manchester United" team will not only remain without titles, but most likely also without Champions League football next season.
Manchester club officials tried to solve the issues in December by sacking manager Jose Mourinho and although Ole Gunnar Solskjaer successfully took over the team's helm at the beginning, the end of the season once again disappointed the "Red Devils" fans.
"Man Utd" midfielder Ander Herrera, speaking to the official club website, said that players should also take responsibility for the poor season and the manager's dismissal.
"Football is a team sport, so the season should be evaluated based on results achieved. It is obvious that we are disappointed.
In my opinion, when a manager is sacked from the team, it is also the players' responsibility. We should admit that poor results are not only the fault of coaches and staff.
Players need to take responsibility for a poor season. We are disappointed because we could not achieve the club's goals.
In my opinion, this club's goal every season is to fight for titles. We did not do that, so every player must be held accountable for it," A. Herrera said.
Although "Man Utd" chances to fight for a place in the top four Premier League are very minimal, the Spaniard insists that the team will fight until the end of the season.
"We are still fighting for a place in the top four. Obviously, at the moment, everything is in "Chelsea's" hands, but we can still fight for those points.
Opponents are still competing in the Europa League, so we will do everything and fight until the end," added A. Herrera.
