Maybe London's Arsenal paid a record sum for him, but Alexander Hleb doesn't think his namesake Lacazette is a better striker than Olivier Giroud.
The "Gunners" paid 46.5 million pounds for their newcomer this summer, although the former team player does not find this purchase convincing.
However, the 26-year-old forward has started his career in the English capital quite well, scoring four goals in his first seven matches.
"Football is now a crazy world. The market is crazy, there is a lot of money in it," Hleb told The Independent.
"Arsenal" would have liked to buy more players, but competing with "Manchester City" or PSG is too difficult.
"The newcomers they managed to acquire are good. For example, Alexandre Lacazette, but I couldn't say he is a fantastic purchase."
"I'm a Giroud fan and I don't think Lacazette is better than him. I think they are both at the same level."
Hleb also hinted that "Arsenal" might still convince team leader Alexis Sanchez to stay.
