"Barcelona" captain Andres Iniesta revealed that in his childhood he didn't want to leave his hometown, and eventually did so only after much contemplation.
At the time when his family met with club representatives, he was just twelve years old and lived in Fuentealbilla.
It was really hard for him to separate from his close relatives living in the same city.
"The first answer was that I didn't want to leave because family ties were more important to me than living in such a distant place without them", - Iniesta revealed to beIN Sports.
"The passing weeks and a conversation with my father made me see it as a challenge."
"I really trust my father and I am attached to him, so I know that when he tells me something, it will be right."
"I respect my father and I knew I had to take this step. Then it was the worst months of my life as a person, but with everyone's help, day by day, everything got much better."
Throughout his career with the Catalan team, Iniesta has won eight "La Liga" titles, four UEFA Champions League trophies, and many other awards.
