The coaches of the Sun City team are facing yet another change. Algis Jankauskas, who left a significant mark in the annals of Šiauliai football history, will no longer coach the team next year.

A. Jankauskas's journey with the club began back at the end of 2020 when he joined the yellow-blacks as a player while they were competing in the "TOPsport First League."

In 2021, he became one of the most crucial pieces of the Šiauliai team's puzzle – captain Algis helped the yellow-blacks secure a spot in the highest division of the country. That season, he played all 27 matches, scored 8 goals, and was recognized not only as the best defender in the "TOPsport First League" but also won the title of the league's best player.

After an impressive career phase in 2021, the captain officially ended his professional football career in Šiauliai in November of the following year, but the beautiful story created with the Sun City football academy did not end there. In recent years, he has been entrusted with the role of assistant coach for both the main and B teams.

In his role as a coach, Algis, who has grown in recent years, helped the Šiauliai team fight for bronze medals in the "TOPsport A League" and a spot in the UEFA Conference League qualifying round, as well as competing in the LFF Cup final.

The football academy thanks the coach for his invaluable contribution to the team's achievements both on and off the field and wishes him the greatest success in his new career phase.

"I would like to thank the entire FA "Šiauliai" community for these memorable 4 years. It coincided that I finished my path as a professional footballer here and started my coaching career, so I want to thank the leadership of this organization once again for trusting me and providing the opportunity to begin and build experience in a new career phase. I also want to give a big thanks to Mindaugas Čepas, who shared a lot of valuable knowledge and experience, and to all the team staff, who were wonderful, and of course to the players without whom we wouldn't have achieved anything. I wish the entire FA "Šiauliai" organization to continue to grow and pursue its set goals. Good luck!" – A. Jankauskas said his goodbye.
