A. Kučys: "Everything is shaping up quite well right now © lff.lt

Armandas Kučys continues to stand stronger in the Lithuanian national team, where in the matches of March and June he scored two goals in four matches.

He sent precise shots into the goals of Gibraltar and Latvia national teams.

The football player, who is one of the most productive in the TOPsport A League, says that accurate shots add a lot of confidence.

"Scoring goals really helps, it may have been a bit of a tougher period, but these goals are not insignificant. I want to keep going and achieve even more," the forward said.

For him, this is just the beginning of his professional career, so did the football player expect that transitioning into men's football would be so smooth?

"I may have expected it to some extent, but still, playing with men is different, you need a bit of adaptation, no matter how it is. The first years were maybe a little tougher, this year I have gone through all the preparation from the beginning and I am ready. Everything is going quite well so far," the player explained.

However, not everything is smooth sailing - this season he has already seen red cards a few times.

"Maybe sometimes it's a loss of concentration, when you already have a yellow card you can't tackle the ball like that or do other things, you have to be calmer and understand that you can't go into challenges so aggressively. That's why I had to play in the First League, but it is clear to everyone that if you don't play, you lose your playing rhythm," the forward commented.

The "Kauno Žalgiris" club he represents was marked by changes before the national team break - Saulius Širmelis became the head coach, replacing Nerijus Mačiulis who held the position.

"It was a bit surprising, I didn't expect it, there were no talks about anyone changing, it was unexpected. I can't say that it depends on our tumultuous game, we have to go and play ourselves, the coach can give instructions, but we have to go and play. It's sad, but players can't change anything," shared the striker.
