„Lyon“ leader Alexandre Lacazette disappointed the big European clubs targeting him by stating that he wants to stay in his current team.
The striker, performing excellently this season with 25 goals in 28 „Ligue 1“ matches, is of interest to London's „Arsenal“, „Liverpool“, and Madrid's „Real“ teams.
The 23-year-old sniper insists he will stay in France even if „Lyon“ does not play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
„It's too early to talk about opportunities abroad,“ Lacazette said.
„In any case, my choice will depend only on sports-related reasons. Playing in Qatar next season does not interest me.“
„I would like to extend my contract. I believe the „Lyon“ project is moving forward, and I see myself staying even if we don't make it to the Champions League.“
Led by Lacazette, the team is currently leading in the French championship, with second-placed „Paris Saint-Germain“ trailing by only two points and having played one game less.
