"The Vilnius region's 'TransINVEST' club, which aims to shed the label of an outsider in the 'TOPsport A league', has secured its second consecutive victory. The championship debutants defeated FA 'Šiauliai' players at home 2:0 (1:0).
In the first half, the guests controlled the ball for longer, but created only one more dangerous opportunity when Deividas Dovydaitis shot wide. On the other side of the field, Ignas Kaškelevičius responded in a similar episode.
The latter 'TransINVEST' player provoked a foul by Danielius Jarašius in the penalty area – the penalty earned was converted by Ryonosuke Ohori in the second minute of added time.
After the break, that Japanese player celebrated a brace. Chidera Henry Nwoga intercepted the ball from an opponent in the 59th minute and made an assist to R. Ohori, who scored with a precise one-touch shot. Midway through the second half, the Šiauliai players made their first shot on target, but Stefanas Čupičius was on hand.
The guests' chances of fighting for at least a point completely faded in the 76th minute when D. Jarašius received a second yellow card and was sent off. In the remaining time, neither team delighted their fans with dangerous episodes.
After this victory, the debutants climbed to 7th place with 32 points, while the Šiauliai team, with one point more, sits in 5th place.
