Alvaro Morata returned to the Spanish national team after a quite long break - Luis Enrique decided to associate the future of the national team with the striker and chose him for the UEFA Nations League matches.
A. Morata did not realize his big dream this summer due to his poor sporting form - he did not go to the World Cup. The Spaniard played one of the worst seasons in his career last season.
In an interview, the striker admitted that his debut season in the ranks of "Chelsea" was not what he had dreamed of.
"I was not happy last year, as the whole season was a disaster," said A. Morata. "It was a very difficult period for me, but I no longer want to think about what happened before."
"I will do everything to be able to go to the next World Cup. It's really hard to accept when you watch the whole tournament on TV, knowing that you could have been part of it all."
"I definitely don't blame Julen Lopetegui for not choosing me. It was his opinion, and I myself had a poor season. I wish him the greatest success in the future, especially now that he has moved to Real Madrid," added the striker.
