23-year-old striker Alvaro Morata could have become the most expensive Spanish footballer of all time last summer.
Last summer, Madrid's "Real" club bought back their former player from Turin's "Juventus" for 30 million euros. There were long rumors in the media that the "whites" could sell the striker for a much higher amount the same summer.
It seems that the reports were not wrong, and Morata himself confirmed that he was being courted by Antonio Conte to join London's "Chelsea". However, the Spaniard did not want to move elsewhere and stayed in Madrid.
"Chelsea showed the most interest," Morata revealed. "We received a really big offer. I could have become the most expensive Spanish footballer of all time, but my dream has always been to play for the 'Real' club."
According to reports, "Real" received a 70 million euro offer from "Chelsea" at the end of July.
