Alvaro Morata, who still belongs to the London team "Chelsea" but spent the second part of the season with Madrid's "Atletico", no longer wants to return to London.
The forward joined "Chelsea" back in 2017 when he arrived from Madrid's "Real" team, but he struggled to find his place in the Premier League.
According to A. Morata, he did not feel appreciated in London, and the move to "Atletico" was the best thing that could have happened to him.
"I had lost confidence in my abilities recently. I was disappointed by the opinion people in England had of me. I didn't feel valued or loved by either the club or the fans. Everything started well within Chelsea, but later everything was disrupted by an injury.
Despite how poorly things went in my first season in England, I still managed to score 15 goals, and the team won the FA Cup. But I was left out of the World Cup squad, and that was the hardest moment of my life.
I had dreamed about playing in the World Cup since I was a kid, and I chose Chelsea because I thought it would be the best place for me to prepare for the upcoming World Cup.
The contract with "Atletico" was the best thing that could have happened to me. I want to stay with "Atletico', but Chelsea can win me back. We will see what happens in negotiations between the two clubs, but they both know what I want.
"I just want to ask, as I have already asked the management of "Atletico", solve everything as quickly as possible, because I just want to stay here," - Morata said in an interview with "Goal".
The forward's loan agreement with "Atletico" will be valid for another season, and after that, the Madrid team will have the opportunity to buy out the Spaniard's contract.
