Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will not help the team this year.
The 26-year-old footballer injured his thigh in the FIFA Club World Cup final. J. Klopp did not say how long A. Oxlade-Chamberlain's rehabilitation will take.
"One of the three hamstring tendons was damaged," revealed J. Klopp. "Now we have to see how quickly he can recover. I myself experienced this injury a year ago - in one case you can recover quickly, but there is also a chance that rehabilitation will take longer."
"There is no chance he will return to the pitch this year. Later we will evaluate his possibilities," added the coach.
Liverpool team will enter the battle with Leicester and Wolves during the festive period.
