Representing the English club, Marcos Alonso was involved in a tragic car accident, during which a woman died.

The Spaniard lost control of a BMW car on Monday morning after a night out and crashed into a wall. One of the female passengers did not survive, while another was seriously injured and remains in critical condition.

Alonso's brother Miguel and friend Jaime Navarro also suffered bone fractures, but the latter has already been released from the hospital.

Suspicions are raised that the 20-year-old football player, who has played four matches in the English championship this season, may have been drinking. He may face charges of involuntary manslaughter.
