Although Cristiano Ronaldo was awarded the "Ballon d'Or" last week, "Sevilla" defender Adil Rami believes that the best footballer in the world should be considered Ronaldo's teammate Sergio Ramos.
The Spaniard was included in the candidates list for the Golden Ball, but interestingly, he became one of just 11 players who did not receive a single vote.
The 30-year-old is not only the backbone of Madrid's "Real" defense, but also contributes significantly to the team's offense in crucial moments. This year, he has once again managed to shine in the Spanish championships.
"Sergio Ramos, without a doubt. He is the best in the world," Rami replied when asked who he would give the "Ballon d'Or" to.
"It's beautiful to watch him play. He is fast and contributes a lot to the attacks."
"The way he has managed to play several excellent seasons is impressive."
Rami himself will face Ramos in less than a month. The "La Liga" match between "Real" and "Sevilla" will take place on January 15th.
