A record amount raised for Champions League broadcasts, changes expected in the tournament

BT Sports company officially announced that for the next three years they have acquired the right to broadcast Champions League and Europa League tournaments in the UK.

To become exclusive UEFA partners until the end of the 2020/21 season, they paid a whopping 1.2 billion pounds sterling.

It was also announced that starting from the 2018/19 season, football fans will have to get used to some changes - matches will be broadcasted at 20 and 22 o'clock, and in the tournament, England, Italy, Germany, and Spain leagues are guaranteed at least four spots each.

The company will strive to attract as many fans as possible and on social networks - they will broadcast various clips, reviews, and finals for free.

The current BT contract with the Champions League was also signed for three years (2015-2018) and was worth 897 million pounds sterling.
