Arjen Robben's "flying" in the Dutch national team will no longer be seen - the 33-year-old veteran announced the end of his career in the national team.
A. Robben ended his career in the national team with a dignified victory against Sweden in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup. The Dutch national team did not make it to the next year's tournament, but A. Robben, wearing the "orange" jersey, ended his career with two goals that secured the victory against Sweden.
The winger representing Munich's "Bayern" club made his debut in the Dutch national team back in 2003. In total, A. Robben played 96 matches in the national team and scored 37 goals.
A. Robben managed to achieve great results in the World Cups with the Dutch national team - in 2010, the Dutch only lost in the final to Spain, and four years later in Brazil, they took third place.
Arjen Robben retires from international football as Netherlands’ joint-fourth all-time top scorer.
