Arjen Robben, who announced his retirement in 2019, is returning to football - the 36-year-old veteran has signed a contract with his first career team. "Groningen" announced over the weekend that A. Robben will return to the team for at least one season. It was in this club that the legendary Dutchman's journey to professional football began. Initially, A. Robben played in the youth team, and in the 2000s he got a chance to wear the first team's jersey. The footballer himself admitted that the decision was not easy, but the desire to lace up his football boots once again was unstoppable. "My dream has always been to wear the 'Groningen' shirt again," said the footballer. "I don't know if this decision (to return to football) will be justified, but it depends on my motivation and dedication. During this difficult time, the club may ask me for any help. There have been intense discussions over the past few weeks. Finally, I decided to listen to my heart," A. Robben clarified his decision to return to football. A. Robben played for Munich's "Bayern" club before announcing the end of his career. The Dutchman's decision was then influenced by recurring injuries.
