A. Shearer: Lacazette needs to have a serious talk with Wenger

Alan Shearer urges Alexandre Lacazette to seriously talk to coach Arsene Wenger, who left the sniper on the bench again when London's Arsenal lost 3-1 to Manchester City.

The only "gunner" goal was scored by the Frenchman who came on as a substitute, but the attack in the match started by the player not yet signed a new contract, Alexis Sanchez.

The 50 million pound forward had a similar fate against Liverpool - then playing Danny Welbeck in the starting lineup, Arsenal suffered a 4-0 defeat.

"He left him on the bench at Anfield stadium and did it again today against the main opponents," Shearer told Match of the Day 2.

"When you spend 50 million pounds on a sniper, you expect him to be useful in the most important matches."

"In the league, he scored six goals - more than twice as many as any other Arsenal player."

"Today he left out Alexis Sanchez, who does not want to tie his future to the club - what does this say to Lacazette and his teammates?"

"He has every right to knock on Wenger's door tomorrow and say, 'Maybe I'm not to your liking or what?'"

After yesterday's failure, Arsenal is already 12 points behind the leading "city" in the English championship.
