"Liverpool" unexpectedly lost two points in the English Premier League on Sunday in a match against the struggling Manchester United team.
From the very start of the match, the Manchester club effectively exploited the right side of Liverpool's defense, where Trent Alexander-Arnold struggled to cope.
After the match, Liverpool's coach Arne Slot was asked whether the growing rumors about a possible move to Real Madrid distracted his defender. Nonetheless, the Dutchman had his own take on the matter.
"I don't believe in such things. I think nine out of ten of you would say that those rumors affected him, but I will be the one who doesn’t believe in such things."
"I think he struggled because he had to compete against players in his own area like Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes. These are two starters for the Portuguese national team. We have such a wonderful player like Diogo Jota, who is not a starter for the Portuguese national team. This shows how much quality 'Man Utd' has in their squad."
If United players find their rhythm, it becomes very difficult to stop them.
It was much harder for Trent to play against Fernandes and Dalot than to deal with the rumors surrounding him. That’s my opinion, but many will probably say the opposite," Slot explained.
