A. Smith remains at the 'Panevėžys' club

The football club "Panevėžys" has extended the contract for another season with Ariagneris Smith, who shone in 2023 and became the champion of Lithuania.

The 26-year-old footballer from Nicaragua has been representing "Panevėžys" since the beginning of 2022; however, he did not play last season due to an injury. A. Smith was sidelined after a national team match against the Dominican Republic on November 23, 2023.

According to the player, the effects of the injury are in the past. After a productive pre-season preparation, he is once again ready to delight fans with his dynamic attacking play.

"I think the team's season was very average; in my opinion, we showed a very low level of play in several matches. I feel recovered from the injury and hope to achieve good physical readiness so that I can be well-prepared at the start of the season."

In the upcoming season, I aim to return to my best level and help the team become champions again," A. Smith shared his thoughts with fk-panevezys.lt.

The representative of the Nicaragua national team and other "Panevėžys" footballers will gather for their first training session on January 6 to prepare for the new season.
